EHS Specialist

Responsibilities

• Maintain ETMS TO DO LIST.
• Conduct business in a manner that will protect human health, safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws.
• Assist in the maintenance of an effective EHSMS system.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental legislation and Standards by ensuring all required EHS documentation is up to date and readily available.
• Educate and engage employees in efforts to optimise EHS performance.
• Ensure EHS audits are conducted and all issues effectively closed out.
• Promote continuous improvement in all environmental and safety matters.
• Ensure implementation of the waste management strategy, continually striving to reduce impact on the environment.
• Ensure all EHS incidents are investigated to establish causation and resolution.
• Assist in workstation assessment programme.
• Promote, implement and participate in safety committees
• Co-ordinate inspections by regulatory bodies as required.
• Ensure permit completion in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Manage and co-ordinate vendors and contractors where there is an EHS impact, and in accordance with local legislation.
• Develop and deliver EHS Training Courses.
• Ensure compliance to monthly ETMS requirements.
• Assess and determine the introduction of new equipment, hazards, processes and chemicals.
• Ensure compliance to ETMS Requirements.

• You will have a third level qualification in an Environmental Science/ Occupational, safety and health or related discipline is a necessary requirement for this position.
• At minimum of at least 1 years’ experience in a similar role.
